Welcome to the Ventura Social Services Task Force (VSSTF)
"Dedicated to Ending Homelessness in the City of Ventura"

After the successful river evacuation program prior to the floods of 2004, the City designated the VSSTF as the community organization that it would look to for advice and guidance on issues relating to homelessness. With the development of the "10-Year Strategy to End Homelessness for Ventura County" and its endorsement by the City and County in June, 2007, the City formally recognized the VSSTF as the lead organization to coordinate, mobilize and guide community action, and to advise City policy makers on public programs of support for ending homelessness in our City.

The VSSTF is governed by a Mission Statement and a Membership Policy. We do our work primarily through four subcommittees that meet monthly.  Alphabetically, the subcommittees are:

Community Education Subcommittee, John Jones, Chair, meets every 2nd Tuesday from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 5654 Ralston, Ventura
